"For the love of the arts" - John Tagley
CHOLO Road King - ALL NEW HYBRID CLASS from STYLE BLENDING
This 2002 Road King classic was heading down the path to FULL CHOLO, when suddenly I decided to change course slightly. A hybrid build emerges from this 3rd round makeover to form a fresh look which is now proving its dominance on the streets with its undeniable bad boy presence, real world functionality and devastatingly loud pipes.
The new mods work together to aid in modernizing this 20 year old Harley and to spawn a blended build which utilizes looks and functionality from two separate classes. New mods include a full blended exhaust from S&S and Steady Custom Cycles, full air suspension and raked neck kit from American Suspension, 26/18 wheels by MetalSport, Apes, rear crash bars and bag guards once again by SCC and a long overdue tank console.
PRODUCTION FACTS...
The film which took 3 months to complete was shot in Westchester NY during the months of Sept, Oct and Nov of 2022. During that time I acquired 1.15 TB of footage data which then had to be painstakingly edited for well over 200 computer hours. Filmed entirely in 4k res or higher for perfect clarity, the sound was captured and finalized in lossless WAV format. Filmed almost entirely on a Sony A7SIII, other cameras used were Sony A7III, Go Pros for onboard, and DJI drones. Diety and Sennheiser microphones.

Sam and his Road King, and me on my Softail deluxe hit the streets of Westchester NY. I intentionally edited minimally to give the viewer a real world experience of what it's like to ride a full Cholo. Enjoy.

Incredible film makers, I'm addicted to your short films! Time to go big guys!
Get a kickstand extension.
You guys got the coolest bikes, dope fresh videography n editing. What kind of cameras are you using? Thanks for being here man, really needed to see some heart in this whole bike biz. Go hard atay hard Cholo Kings
Does the big front tire effect the handling like cornering an what not
how much did it cost to build this pile of turds
Fucking kick ass bro. Inspiration for my fxr build.
Hey I had same rear fender put on my softail & after riding for about 2 weeks it shifted and now it's rubbing my tire and wearing it down again suggestion
If it shifted, then you should look at how it was mounted. If they're securely mounted, they shouldn't budge other than normal vibration. I'd also take a look at the alignment of your wheel, it's possible that that's what shifted.
Where did you get the seat? I have an 06 Deluxe and the seat is too wide and high.
That's a LePera bare bones seat
Make the movie
You ride like the whole world sees you........just being a old guy....
Greets from Germany.. Thank you for your bad influence ;)
Put em movies in theatres mang!!!
Heard some Deftone in this video. Your music taste is next level along with your video editing.
Like the video. a question who did the the Sarah coating for your pipes. Thank you for your time
Not one person of color within the group of recruits or staff. How can a recruit have 3 rows of ribbons?
Hey John Awesome layframe bike looks out of this world I’m installing a Dirtyair front kit how do you place the fitting on top of forks with Nacel?
You'll need a little space in there for the air line to fit into the top of the fork leg. If you have no room, then tighten the forks down in the lowest position possible to get the clearance.
@@JETFILMCHANNEL I have stock everything in front end except a Drag specialties Nacelle..Question is it degree fitting on top of fork Cap or can I tap top of fork to place fitting in fork I need some help or modifications to make this fit
@@JETFILMCHANNEL I know you probably get a lot of questions if you can help much appreciated
@@JETFILMCHANNEL would it be possible to either get fork extensions tap into them for the fitting or a nacelle you bought from Bike Nation have more room for top cap fittings
Dirty air sells fork caps that have 1/8 npt fittings so that you can install push connect/npt fitting in them. I believe the fittings on them sit low so that it'll give you enough clearance to run the line, even with a stock style nacell
So much Love into the Bike and the Video! What a master Peace!
i really appreciate the high production value of your content. i watch your films repeatedly and i find something new to appreciate with every viewing. you give me a lot to aspire to. thank you.
I have accidentally driven over lots of very loud motorcycles because I couldn't see them in my mirror.
You should consider not driving anymore
@@JETFILMCHANNEL oh no driving is my job that's all I do
Awesome Bro 😎 👊🏾
Hi John, this is Andre have we met a couple of months ago up in Peekskil on a car show. Oh my my told you I’m one of your fans I’m the guy with the walker who had a stroke that I told you a couple of weeks ago. Um, I ask you do you know when I get a bike get my bike, running just to take a ride with you at least then I would love to do that, I just I just bought all the ROCAE guy thing is awesome it’s nice I did the sativa painted the saddlebags and put the horns on it. I would like to change the front look out on the bike where they have a I think is a 14 or 16 inch eight bar on it. It’s awesome. Tell ya and I would like you to take a look at the bike. You can tell me you know if I did good for the first time buying a Harley and so we can take a ride somewhere you can give me a call at 914-987-6890. My name is Andre thank you John I’m still watching your shows from.
Modding a bike to make it perform worse seems insane to me…but everyone rides what they want, and mods it how they want. Hotta respect that.
If YOU like it, that’s all that matters. Who cares what I or anyone else thinks?
I would love to see you do a cholo trike I think that would be bad a$$
very cool
"Filmed by a real biker" first thing he shows is him trailering down 95 🤣
Beat my 24hr ride record, 1628miles, then you can talk all the $hit you want.
@JETFILMCHANNEL stop before you embarrass yourself further, 1883 miles to sturgis non stop from CT, the first time I rode to Miami was under 24 hours and on a SPORTBIKE... it's ok to be soft.... but soft and full of pride is wild lol
@@JETFILMCHANNEL so ... does this mean I can continue talking shit???
Absolutely fantastic video
Fuck that governor they doing shit for New York beautiful bike bro
bro... Id so buy this off you!!!
I'd miss it, but for the right price, I'd sell it tomorrow.
Just remember looking like a bad ass and being a bad ass are 2 different things. I did enjoy the production value of the video. I watched the whole thing. Great looking bike.
Hey man. Just want to say. Truly inspirational video. Got a street glide and always wanted a road king. Now i want one and gonna build it up similar to yours. I love the horsepower out of harleys. Did you have to do anything with the trans (as in newer or upgrade the gear ratios)?
Thanks man, didn't do anything to the trans except switching to redline trans oil with "shockproof". The older 5speed tranmissions can take a lot more power and beatings than the newer 6speeds. Didn't change the gearing, but I'm going to make it taller very soon.

@JETFILMCHANNEL i was curious as to why only 2002 had your eye on road kings. I havent looked up twin cams too much to be honest as mine is an M8 (dont hate, just couldnt find a street glide with low ks so ended up buying new. Gonna try and do a challenge on myself. See if i can get a twin cam up and over an m8. You almost proved it with 140+ hp. ) did you ever think about if you were going to up the trans to going for a dyno jet quick shift to shorten shift times? I looked up the specs on it and its a decent system and not req tuning on the ecu.
149hp, and it will smoke all but the most extreme M8 builds. Don't forget about the weight factor. A heavy M8 road glide built with 15-20 more HP is still going to get beat because of the power to weight factor. The 2002 was the best year if you planned on doing moderate engine work because it had stronger internals and the Delphi EFI. 2003 and up is when the cranks were made weaker and they went cheaper on the bearings. But if you're doing a full engine build then it doesn't really matter because all those parts will be changed anyway. Thought briefly about a quick shifter, but I felt like it would take away from the riding experience. Hung the shifter lower instead for minimal foot movement
@JETFILMCHANNEL yea i agree. Im thinking of putting my street up to 135 ( i dont think that would be too much. Was thinking about going carbon fiber on the bags, fenders and fairing. Did you get the 124 kit from s&s or did revolution bore your stock out and you just get new pistons? Btw thanks for helping me get the answers to the questions. Im from aus so i can just run down the road and meet ya at hays and lamont haha.
What kind of middle headlight is that? Im looking for something bright for my road king
Any LED headlight these days is going to be crazy bright
@@JETFILMCHANNEL hey thanks brother safe riding and dope ride man
WAIT.....149 HP and 159 TQ, That's crazy suicide. WoW!!!! Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed the Vid. I myself ride my 2022 Low Rider ST 131 SE
Shout out to "Panhead". What a legend

This is badass . Youre all badass. Subbed. bell 🔔 too
I do the same by myself on mine. So many problems comes with a build, but the satisfaction at the end is priceless.
Omg great video. Great editing
Watching this again, for the 20th time. Love this guys work!!!!
I had that gas issue I found a farmer that had gas on his farm I forever owe his a favor
Sam’s nickname should be Marlboro man… he always have a cig lite
Do you know how much wind resistance having that big tall front wheel and having those tall handlebars creates? I don't know what it is, but I'm sure it's considerable! If you go back to the early days, like back in the 30's, you would see that they have handlebars down just above their gas tanks or below. They were looking to have the least air resistance possible.
I'm sure it creates quite a bit more resistance than if it were stock. However, I had to make some compromises because this is a Cholo styled bike. If I were going 100% performance above all else, than the bike would look a lot differently.
With your bike on the frame ( aired out ) how tall is the highest part of your bars from the ground? I’m looking at building a van out to transport my softail deluxe to shows around the country and I’d like to know the height so I can figure out what vehicle I’m going to use.
$uicideboy$ in the intro🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sick intro!!
Man this is the best produced film I’ve ever seen on yt. Got rid of my bikes a few years ago and have been looking around a little while again. Hope this film leaves my head because damn man. Feel like another softail is coming now 😂. Well maybe a rk
